The Volunteers for Youth Justice Program, a non-profit agency, provides intervention and advocacy services for children (and parents) who are involved with the juvenile justice system. We train volunteers to work with youth and families to address the issues of juvenile crime in our community. We are an umbrella agency and have four programmatic components: Teen Court, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), JUMPSTART (instructional) workshops for parents and youth, and the Families in Need of Services for truant and ungovernable children.

GEMS is a mentoring program designed specifically for court-involved girls. Girls participate in educational workshops, attend cultural events, and conduct community service projects. Girls are also paired with a female adult mentor from the community.

Participants are asked to commit to the program for one year. Workshops are currently offered 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month from 6 - 8pm. Requirements: age: 13-16, not pregnant or a teen mother.
