Due to the potential for rain and possible severe weather, sand and sandbags are being made available throughout the year in Lafayette Parish during daytime hours at the following two separate locations:


Residents within City Limits of Lafayette AND Parish 337-291-8509
• North District sandbagging is at the compost facility, located at 400 Dugas Road off of North University
• South District sandbags will be available at 1017 Fortune Road in Youngsville.
**Both sites are self-bagging which means, bring your own manpower and shovel
**4 bags per exterior door, with a maximum of 20 sandbags per household
**Sand cannot be retrieved from pits once rain begins
**Operation will cease once sand supply is exhausted

- Bag-Your-own at the city Police Station 304 Fourth Street
- Youngsville sewer plant 416 Railroad Avenue. NOTE: This site is reserved for elderly and individuals requiring assistance. There is assistance available until 4:00 PM to help load pre bagged sand into vehicles. - NOT ACTIVATED
