Also known as Legal Aid and formerly known as Northwest Louisiana Legal Services. Legal Services is a non-profit law firm providing free civil services to low income and elderly residents. LSNL was formed on January 1, 2002 via a merger of Northwest Louisiana Legal Services, Inc. of Shreveport, Louisiana and Kisatchie Louisiana Legal Services Corporation of Natchitoches, Louisiana. LSNL now serves Twenty-Six (26) or 41% of the 64 parishes of Louisiana. The parishes served are Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Caldwell, Catahoula, Claiborne, Concordia, DeSoto, East Carroll, Franklin, Grant, Jackson, LaSalle, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Red River, Richland, Sabine, Tensas, Union, Webster, West Carroll and Winn. LSNL has three (3) office locations, with the central office being located in Shreveport, Louisiana and branch offices in Monroe and Natchitoches, Louisiana. Legal Services has a dedicated staff to assist in the representation and the handling of legal problems for clients. Examples include marital matters, bankruptcy, insurance issues, wills and Social Security issues. For all others, service is provided to persons at or below poverty level. Eligibility:

Generally, one must meet the federal poverty guidelines in order to be eligible. However, under the grants to evacuees this requirement is waived. The eligibility under these grants is met when one is an evacuee and/or resides in Caddo or Bossier Parishes.
