Mission
The Department's mission is to provide service to the people of Louisiana through comprehensive environmental protection in order to promote and protect health, safety and welfare while considering sound policies regarding employment and economic development.

The agency has regional offices located across the state with headquarters in the Galvez Building, 602 North Fifth Street. The Galvez Building is part of Capitol Park, a collection of new facilities in the heart of downtown Baton Rouge.

For your convenience when visiting, free parking is available across the street in the Main Street Market parking garage. A parking voucher is issued for access and can be validated by the appropriate personnel prior to departure. For safety and security reasons, visitors must sign in at the security desk and present photo identification.
