Description:
AIDS Law is a non-profit legal organization that provides free services to HIV-infected individuals for HIV-related legal issues. Service areas include: estate planning, employee benefits and health insurance, public benefits, family law discrimination based on HIV status, debtor issues, confidentiality and transmission liability.
Hours:
Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
Intake Process:
Call or walk in to apply. Picture ID, Proof of Residence, Proof of HIV status required.
Program Fees:
No fees/not applicable
Eligibility:
A client must have HIV or AIDS, be a Louisiana resident, have an HIV-related legal problem, and
receive Supplemental Security Income, Social Security, Disability, or Aid to Families with Dependent Children, or otherwise meet our financial eligibilty requirements (200% of the national poverty level)
