Description:

Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building houses and renovating homes to make affordable housing so that there are decent houses in decent communities.

Habitat is not a give-away program. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, each homeowner family invests at least 300 hours of their own labor ("sweat equity") into the building of their home, the homes of others, and other HFHCA activities.

Hours:

Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm

Intake Process:

Applications are taken at an application seminar at different times throughout the year

Program Fees:

Willing to work "sweat equity" hours and be able to pay loan back at 0% interest rate

Languages:

English

Eligibility:

Low income (25-50% of parish median income) in need of decent housing.
Willing to Partner with Habitat
