Council on Aging - Acadia Parish
Acadia Council on Aging services include:
ENERGY ASSISTANCE: help with payment of utilities for people age 60 or older;
HOME DELIVERED MEALS: for the homebound age 60 or older (small donation is requested for this service);
MEAL SITE: center serves lunch for age 60 or older (small donation is requested for this service);
HOMEMAKER SERVICES: assistance with light housekeeping, errands, light meal preparation for age 60 or older (small donation is requested for this service);
FOOD FOR SENIORS: food distribution once a month of various can goods, juices, etc.
Services: Area Agencies on Aging, Commodity Supplemental Food Program, Congregate Meals/Nutrition Sites, Friendly Telephoning, Home Delivered Meals, Homemaker Assistance, Long Term Care Ombudsman Programs, Medicaid Applications, Medicare Enrollment, Personal Care, Prescription Drug Patient Assistance Programs, Recreational Activities/Sports, Senior Housing Information and Referral, Senior Ride Programs, Specialized Information and Referral, Utility Service Payment Assistance
